For those that don't want to read it all: In a nutshell, Mobil1 is no longer a PURE synthetic. Whereas Redline and Amsoil have nothing derived from a petroleum product, one of the Mobil1 elements of the "Tri" is in fact from a Petroleum product. Of course, it's still much better than conventional oil but it's not as good or as "high end" as the Redline and Amsoil is. Of course, it's cheaper than those for that reason too. If I didn't change my oil MONTHLY and take it to Nissan to do it, I'd use Amsoil, RP, etc all the time. For my NA, I don't mind the TriSyn. And before you all flame me for not changing my own oil, I do a LOT of things myself and I used to do that, but you try doing it once a month (I drive 3,000 miles a month), with no garage or flat parking space and a full load at work =) It's either Nissan or I'll end up putting it off trying to find time to do it myself. Plus if Nissan leaves the bolt off, I get a new engine!
